Labor in the Pulpit/Church
We have partnered with the AFL-CIO, one of the country's most influential labor unions, to offer labor union members to come talk bout their experiences in our UCC churches. The labor union member will be from YOUR local area. This is an effort to build and/or deepen relationships with unions and workers in your locality to be better able to understand and advocate for them and their families. Workers will come to your church in-person, or virtually if you are not meeting in-person, and provide a 3-5 minute testimony of what they and other workers in your area have experienced. Our goal is to have this effort highlighted in our churches from Sunday, September 4 (Labor Day Weekend) through October 31 (Neighbors in Need Offering). HOWEVER, if this timeline does not work for your church, we can schedule the union member at another time.

Please complete the form below. Your information will be shared with Rev. Michael Szpak, Faith Coordinator for the AFL-CIO. Also, a Labor in the Pulpit organizing guide can be found here, https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aRZmrCYokNQXILzDNB6kPBUH2jkypqDi/view?usp=sharing
