LPTW THEATRE CONNECTIONS
With Luna Stage -- Virtual
Tuesday, May 18th at 4 pm on ZOOM
For dues-paying members and dues-paying ‘Friends of the League’:
Taking advantage of the virtual format, Theatre Connections will meet on Zoom with Luna Stage and Artistic Director Ari Laura Kreith. Luna Stage founded in 1992, has developed and produced over 100 new works for the stage from its location New Jersey, now near a transit hub in West Orange. Its very first show under the guidance of then artistic director Jane Mandel was In The Name of the Woman.
During the pandemic, Luna transitioned seamlessly to virtual production with the NEA-funded Voting Writes project, an interdisciplinary project featuring 31 commissioned world premiere plays, films and songs about civic participation and an original Zoom play for high school students by Jenny Lyn Bader and Martine Sainvil. Now playing are #RIFT, a play over text message which is the first installment in a trilogy exploring America's political divides, and The Vaccine Monologues, a virtual gallery investigating our response to the pandemic.
Artistic Director Kreith has directed and developed many works, including stage, virtual, immersive and site-specific projects.
Previous Theatre Connections programs have been at the Public, New York Theater Workshop, Vineyard, Manhattan Theatre Club, Atlantic, and virtually at HERE Arts and WP Theatre (formerly the Women’s Project).
