The IPEd Mentoring Program is open to financial members (at any level) of any editors' association anywhere. To be a mentor you must agree to communicate with your mentee for the duration of the mentorship (which is usually between two and three months) by whatever means (e.g., Zoom, telephone call) and however frequently (e.g., weekly, fortnightly) you both agree is suitable. Shorter or longer mentorships can be arranged where necessary. Mentors receive a small honorarium for their services.

Your mentee should prepare specific goals and discuss them with you, so that you start with a clear understanding of what you will work on together.

If a mentoring relationship does not work out, you or your mentee should contact your local coordinator to discuss a possible re-matching. A mentorship can also end if the mentee’s goals are met earlier than expected.

All information is stored securely, and will not be made available to anyone other than members of the IPEd Mentoring Standing Committee.
