Call for Nominations Announcement

REFORMA is seeking nominations for the 2020 Dr. Arnulfo D. Trejo Librarian of the Year (LOTY) Award. The Award Committee will give the highest priority to early or mid-career candidates who have promoted and advocated services to the Spanish-speaking and Latino communities including the fulfillment of unmet needs during 2019-2020.

The Arnulfo D. Trejo Librarian of the Year (LOTY) Award consists of a $500 stipend.

The deadline for submitting nominations has been extended to Monday, August 31st, 2020. Please be specific and detailed.

Please describe the degree in which the nominee achieved excellence in promoting and advocating library services to Latinos and the Spanish-speaking, including the fulfillment of unmet needs in the community, specifically during the past 2 years (2019-2020). The nominee is preferably an early to mid-career candidate.

Please describe the degree to which the nominee’s work filled any unmet library need(s) and/or other need(s) in the Latino and Spanish-speaking community. The noted service contribution(s) may be wide-ranging. Examples include: leadership, administration, technology, library programs and services, publications, professional development. Think broadly.
