As far as the digital photography summer camp goes - here is what I am thinking, I would love your input!
It'll be broken into 5 segments (so Mon-Fri) and the class is about an hour long to include some photography time for about 20-30 mins at the end of class. ๐
If your child has a digital camera that would be GREAT! If not, it's ok too, I have a spare I'll let them take turns with. The brand, age of the camera + type doesn't really matter as long as it's in working order + is digital. ๐
Each child will have a folder with learning materials that I will provide.
I'd like to cap each camp at 10 kids total since I am a one woman show (I can definitely recruit help when needed though, so if we do get a lot of interest I will take care of that).
A $50 non-refundable deposit will be taken upon booking to secure your child's spot in the camp.
Monday - Day One - History of Photography and the Photographer's Toolkit (we also have some work sheets, a game + will stroll outside if the weather is nice to talk about what we learned, get to know each other, make badges for the kids)
Tuesday - Day Two - Exposure (3 Kings, Shutter Speed, Aperture) - again we will have some hands on things to work on, an assignment to bring in the next day + a stroll outside to talk about exposure + things we learned).
Wednesday - Day Three - Camera Settings (all about the basics + I'll walk around helping your child with their camera settings + we will discuss what each setting does), outside for discussion + some shooting with cameras.
Thurs - Day Four - Composition and hands on photographing day
Friday - Day Five - Lighting, posing, careers in photography (last day + they will get a little completion certificate in the end).
I am considering the following weeks + would love at least 4-5 children per week to make this work for me. ๐
Location will be at a local library (Temecula area), and we may do a nature park on day 5, close to the library.
Cost for 5 days of camp (drop off at 12:45, class starts at 1pm sharp and pick up at 2:15pm sharp, class would end at 2pm) would be $250.
I am a licensed professional business with liability insurance + am CPR certified. ๐ I am a veteran of the US Air Force, I also homeschool my own 13 yr old son.
I am looking into the following weeks for summer camp 2024:
June 17-21st (12:45-2:15pm)
July 8-12 (12:45-2:15pm)
July 29th - Aug 2nd (12:45-2:15pm)
