Microschools in D6 are small groups ("pods") of students who work and learn together. These pods provide students with a community of learners, support the classroom digital learning, and provide a place for projects, activities and fun! All Microschools have different schedules designed to meet the needs of families and students participating in Comprehensive Distance Learning.
There are two types of D6 Microschools under development: Neighborhood and Community.
"Neighborhood Microschools" are organized and supervised by parents. NMS pods are located off of a D6 campus (park, library, personal residence, etc.). NMS pods are supported by D6 through curriculum, consultation, partnerships, materials and resources / facilities.
"Community Microschools" are comprised of students in cohorts and are organized and supervised by partner organizations (such as the YMCA, Rogue Valley Farm to School, DIRT, etc.). CMS pods may be located on a D6 campus and often offered with childcare. CMS pods are supported by D6 through curriculum, consultation, partnerships, materials and resources / facilities.
