Letter of Intent - Commonwealth Honors Scholar '23-'24
Commonwealth Honors Program graduation requirements are as follows:
  • Complete three Honors courses, including two 200-level courses, with a B or above
  • Graduate with a minimum of a 3.2 GPA.
  • Participate once in annual research conference (research paper required and presentation at conference).
Benefits of becoming a Commonwealth Honors Scholar include:
  • Automatic enrollment in the Commonwealth Honors Program when transferring within the UMASS system
  • Enhanced prospects of acceptance to selective four-year colleges and universities
  • Participation in Seminars with small class sizes
  • Opportunities to showcase student work and participate in college and statewide research conferences
  • Participation in special events and activities
  • Recognition as a Commonwealth Honors Scholar on transcript and at graduation
  • Increased opportunities for scholarships
