The International Tribunal for the Rights of Nature is established as an ethical international people's organization whose functions include investigating, hearing and deciding cases on violations of the Universal Declaration of the Rights of Mother Earth, and thereafter writing and disseminating case law interpreting the declaration, in order to promote respect for the intrinsic rights of Nature and to demonstrate how the application of the rights of Mother Earth promotes harmonious existence between humans and non-humans and their respective rights. The Tribunal deliberations and verdicts can offer innovative tools for advocacy and initiatives by the proponents and affected communities seeking justice and visibility as well as restoration and restitutions for the violations and evidenced damages.

El Tribunal Internacional de los Derechos de la Naturaleza se establece como una organización ética internacional de personas cuyas funciones incluyen investigar, escuchar y decidir casos sobre violaciones de la Declaración Universal de los Derechos de la Madre Tierra, y posteriormente redactar y difundir jurisprudencia interpretando la declaración, con el fin de promover el respeto de los derechos intrínsecos de la Naturaleza y demostrar cómo la aplicación de los derechos de la Madre Tierra promueve la existencia armoniosa entre humanos y no humanos y sus respectivos derechos.
