Are you the first-generation in your family to complete a 4-year college degree? Please respond to this brief survey and we will keep you informed about the National First-Generation College Celebration in November! This information will be shared with the St. Olaf TRIO program staff, the Academic Success Center, and the St. Olaf College administration as we plan for expanded programming for students. Please indicate if you are willing to share this information with others, including St. Olaf students, faculty and staff.

U.S. Department of Education Definition of First-Generation College Student:
An individual, neither of whose parents completed a baccalaureate degree;

or

An individual who, prior to the age of 18, regularly resided with and received support from only one parent and whose supporting parent did not complete a baccalaureate degree.

or

An individual who, prior to the age of 18, did not regularly reside with or receive support from a natural or adoptive parent.

If your parent(s) and/or guardian(s) attended college but do not have a bachelor’s degree (i.e., did not graduate), you are considered to be first-generation.
