1. All services performed by me will be performed on a strictly voluntary basis. I understand that I will receive no pay, compensation, or remuneration of any kind

2. I understand that I will not be an employee of ARE Animal Rescue. I will not receive any benefits normally available to employees of ARE Animal Rescue and that the relationship is terminable at will.

3. I understand that I will NOT RECEIVE ANY BENEFITS as a volunteer of ARE Animal Rescue.

4. I agree to volunteer a minimum of once a month for ARE Animal Rescue.

5. I will abide by the mission, rules, regulations, policies and programs of ARE Animal Rescue while I am a volunteer.

6. I understand that I will be supervised by ARE Animal Rescue manager(s) or designated partners/leads. I agree to work as a team member with all other volunteers, partners and employees.

7. I agree to treat all animals, other volunteers, ARE Animal Rescue staff and the general public with dignity and respect.

8. I understand that I am considered a designated caretaker of any animal that I remove from the shelter with permission from ARE Animal Rescue manager(s) or designated adoption leads.

 9. If I shelter or provide foster care or boarding for any ARE Animal Rescue animals in my home, I consent to having an ARE Animal Rescue representative visit my home from time to time to observe the animals and their living quarters.  I also understand that I must keep ARE Rescue Animals separate from my own pet(s) as required per ARE Animal Rescue Foster Agreements.

10. I agree to truthfully and accurately complete my Volunteer Application and this agreement, release and waiver.

11. I will attend volunteer orientation & training prior to volunteering for events, cattery care or other opportunities requiring training. I understand that:

12. I will attend and view any ARE Animal Rescue orientation materials are only available online; after registration, I will sign up for an event/training within 30 days.

13. I will not conduct or participate in illegal activity on any ARE Animal Rescue Property or at any ARE Animal Rescue events.

14. ARE Animal Rescue volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer without restrictions.

15. If I am aged 15 or younger, I understand and agree that I must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times; and if I am aged 16-17, I may obtain a signed parental waiver in order to volunteer without a parent or guardian supervision. If I am a minor, I will only volunteer when these requirements have been completed.

16. I understand that ARE Animal Rescue recommends that I keep my tetanus immunization current and that any dogs and/or cats that live with me are immunized and kept current on their immunizations.

17. I have not been convicted of, nor am I currently charged with any of the following crimes: A felony within the past five (5) years; Any cruelty to animals at any time; Robbery; Burglary; Theft; Fraud; Money laundering

I understand that as a volunteer for ARE Animal Rescue: 

I assume all risks of loss or injury, including death to myself or damage to my property while on the property of ARE Animal Rescue and elsewhere, while participating in the volunteer program;  ARE Animal Rescue shall incur no liability of any nature as a result of my volunteering for ARE Animal Rescue; In handling animals and performing other volunteer tasks there is a risk of injury, including physical harm or death, and that all services performed by me will be done at my own risk.

On behalf of myself, my heirs and personal representatives, I hereby release, discharge and indemnify and hold harmless ARE Animal Rescue, and its assigns, successors, agents, staff, officers, board of directors, employees, contractors and representatives from any and all claims, causes of action or demands of any nature of cause whatsoever, including costs and legal fees arising out of, or relating to, my volunteering with ARE Animal Rescue, including, but not limited to, animal bites, disease, accidents, property damage or injuries.
I assume all risks of loss or injury, including death to myself or damage to my property while on the property and waive any and all claims against ARE, PetSmart, PetSmart Charities and PetSmart Charities of Canada.

 I agree that as a volunteer of ARE Animal Rescue, any violation of this agreement may subject me to action, up to and including termination of my volunteer relationship with ARE Animal Rescue.
