- Lead climbing a route gives you higher points than top roping.
- You can do as many tries you want, only the best one counts.
- If you send a route on top rope and later lead climb it you can update the score.
POINTS SYSTEM
Every route is worth 1000 points divided by the numbers of climbers (to top or to "zone"). The "zone" will be a marked hold on some routes, if it is missing only successful climb to the top is valid.
Top rope
Reaching the “zone” = 35%
Top rope to top = 70%
Lead climb
Reaching the “zone” = 50%
Lead climb to top = 100%
Examples
A route is climbed by 2 people, one top ropes and the other lead climbs.
- Top roper gets 350 pts (1000 pts / 2 climbers * 70%)
- Lead climber gets 500 pts (1000 pts / 2 climbers * 100%)
A route is climbed by 12 people.
- A climber that reaches the “zone” on lead gets 42 pts (1000 pts / 12 climbers * 50%)
- A climber that reaches the top on lead gets 83 pts (1000 pts / 12 climbers * 100%)
