Turn your Dissertation into a Book: A Virtual Panel Event with Top Editors in the Social Sciences and Humanities
Thursday, April 16th, 2020

Schedule:
3-4:15 panel
4:30-5.45 individual meetings with editors for those who pre-register

Have you ever considered turning your Ph.D. thesis into a book manuscript? Come join us for a virtual panel discussion and Q&A with three editors from renowned university presses to demystify the process! Come hear:

* Susan Ferber, Executive Editor at Oxford University Press, specializing in history

* Jim Lance, Senior Editor at Cornell University Press, whose areas of coverage include anthropology and social science

* Bill Frucht, Executive Editor at Yale University Press whose areas of coverage include political science and law

They will cover topics including how to contact publishers, how to write a convincing book proposal, what editors look for, and what to expect throughout the process.

You will also have an opportunity to sign up for virtual one-on-one meetings with the editors following the panel (see final question in the Registration Form for more details and to sign up).

Both the panel event and the individual consultations will take place on the Zoom platform. You will be provided with relevant links by email after signing up.

Intended Audience: This event is intended for upper-level graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in the Social Sciences and Humanities.
