Southeast Hydro Think Tank Unplugged Registration October 20-21, 2021
The Hydropower Foundation is inviting undergraduate students to register to compete in the Hydro Think Tank "Unplugged" Competition.

What: The Hydro Think Tank “Unplugged”™ is a student-industry opportunity designed to attract and recruit bright, capable students to hydropower. Think Tank “Unplugged” combines the impactful Think Tank™ program and the widely popular Hiring for Hydro™ program, our hydro industry’s jobs fair.

15+ Students will compete independently to conceptually design a unique renewable energy city of 2030 using hydropower as one of the sources to power the city. In addition, students will get the opportunity to share their resumes, gain insightful career advice, gain introductions to industry leaders, and learn about the hydropower industry through an insider’s lens by participating in the Clean Currents Conference.

Where: Clean Currents 2021 is the all-new, official waterpower tradeshow + conference of the National Hydropower Association. Clean Currents will showcase innovative solutions, thought leadership, and exclusive educational opportunities. Clean Currents is located at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA.  Learn more about Clean Currents at www.hydro.org.

Who: 15+ Upper-level undergraduate students at regional universities, HBCU’s and community colleges within the southeast with experience or coursework related to power generation, engineering, finance, and/or energy management.

Goals: Educate University Students about the benefits and value of hydropower through real work-life experience and provide students with the opportunity to network with potential future employers.

Previous Outcomes: The Hydropower Foundation has received amazing feedback from students, most of whom indicated a “new” interest in pursuing a career in the hydropower industry, innovative solutions to a real-world challenge, solid relationships with utility leaders, and career and internship opportunities they wouldn't have gained otherwise.

Benefits: Students build relationships with fellow renewable energy enthusiasts, have the opportunity to network with major U.S. Companies, add a unique experience to their resumes, get those resumes reviewed by hydropower industry leaders, are introduced to industry professionals who can serve as mentors, and receive a unique introduction to a variety of employment opportunities within this renewable energy industry.  Learn more about how renewable resources work and better appreciate the basics of real-world power and energy system planning. This is an experience like no other.

Complimentary registration to the hydropower industry's premier hydropower conference, Clean Currents.
