This is a series taking place over four days for a total of 12 hours. Please note that skills are built upon progressively throughout the series, therefore attendance at all sessions is strongly encouraged.

OverviewThis four-part series is designed to teach participants basic hands-on defence training skills. Through in-depth discussion and interactive participation, participants will come away with a greater awareness and skills to more confidently respond to potentially concerning and aggressive behaviour.
Key learning outcomesParticipants will come away with:
- an understanding of general safety and security issues;
- knowledge and skills to recognize and respond to concerning or aggressive behaviour; and
- basic hands-on defence training, including threat avoidance strategies and assault resistance tactics (participation in the physical activities is optional).
Eligibility TMU students, faculty, staff, community members and members of the public are welcome to participate. Participants must be 13 years old or older to participate.
