Annual Young Investigators' Summer Program in Nuclear Engineering 

1. Please complete the following application only if seriously considering nuclear engineering as a college major.

2. Remember to spell in sentence format since some of the information entered will be used for name tags and certificates (use Lisa Cable, not LISA CABLE or lisa cable. We will not correct).

3. Your application is complete when...
  • ONE reference letter from a science teacher is sent (physics or chemistry preferred). Your teacher MUST directly send their reference letter by email to lisa.marshall@ncsu.edu.  Subject line should read "reference letter for YISP". Do not send by mail, only electronically.

  • Copies of your most recent unofficial academic transcript and, only if taken then send PSAT, SAT or ACT scores. ONLY send electronically to lisa.marshall@ncsu.edu. Do NOT send any documents by mail, only electronically.
4. Application deadline is April 30. Decisions will be communicated starting May 1.

6. Cost: $1800 all inclusive (dorm room, campus meals & industrial trips). The overall cost is kept low for all students through partial funding from industry. As such, there are no individual tuition scholarships available.
