Franklin CUSD #1 recognizes that access to technology in school and out of school gives students greater opportunities to learn, engage, communicate, and develop skills that will prepare them for work, life, and citizenship. We are committed to helping students develop 21st-century technology and communication skills.

Franklin CUSD #1 will be allowing your child to take a district-owned device home this school year. Students are responsible for the care of the equipment in such a way that protects its value and ability to function.  Mistreatment or misuse of a district-owned device will result in a monetary assessment for repairs, replacement, or additional consequences deemed by the district. Additionally, students may be financially responsible for the district-owned device in the event of loss or damage outside of the school.

District-owned devices may be but not limited too:
* chromebooks
* laptop computers
* tablets
* mobile hotspots
* chargers

Franklin CUSD #1 does provide content filtering on district-owned devices outside of school. Franklin CUSD #1 makes a reasonable effort to ensure student’s safety and security online, but will not be held accountable for any harm or damages that result from the use of the school technologies.

Parents/Guardians must accept the terms of this agreement as well as the Acceptable Use Policy, which applies to both on-campus and off-campus use.
