Volunteers under the age of 18 will require parental/guardian consent. All volunteers must be 14 years of age or older.

VARIOUS TIMES AND LOCATIONS | NOVEMBER 15th TO DECEMBER 15th | Help us run random errands like material pick ups/drop offs etc. You must have access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license. When you sign up for this role, we will add you to an email list. When errand runs are needed, we message the group with the task, the time, and the drop off/pick up location. If you are available, you write us back and run the errand.

VARIOUS TIMES AND LOCATIONS | NOVEMBER 17th TO NOVEMBER 30th | Put up posters and postcards in various locations throughout the Avalon Peninsula. It should take 1-2 hours. To be completed on your own time during the last 2 weeks of November. We need help in the following areas: St. John’s (East, West, Downtown, Central, North), Memorial University, Mount Pearl, Torbay, Flatrock, Pouch Cove, Portugal Cove/St. Philips, Bell Island, CBS, Goulds, Southern Shore, Placentia/Argentia, Conception Bay North.

Come to the mummers workshop and help cut cardboard horse head templates, prepare ugly stick cans, cut ribbon fool ribbons, sort through fabrics and more. We will prepare all the material needed for workshops. Choose all the dates you can attend.

MUMMERS PARADE ROUTE | NOVEMBER 24th TO NOVEMBER 30th | Help put our Notice of Delay Flyer and Postcard in mailboxes along our Parade Route. It should take 1 hour. To be completed on your own time during the last week of November.

Help people make ugly sticks. Experience making an ugly stick is helpful but not necessary. Experience with power tools is an asset. Read about workshop here: https://www.mummersfestival.ca/ugly-stick-workshops

Help people make mummer masks. This is an easy workshop geared towards younger mummers. Read about workshop here: https://www.mummersfestival.ca/mummermask

Help participants make bucket and box masks. Set up workstations with supplies. Help with clean up.

Help people make hobby horses out of cardboard and fabric. If you have made a hobby horse before please sign up. If you have not, please attend a Workshop Materials Preparation night as well (listed above). Some experience is necessary. Help set up clothing, mirrors, and signs for the Rig Up. If the Parade is cancelled on December 14th, we will move it to December 15th. Please check one or (hopefully!) both dates below.

Help set up our photo booth, food & drink station, stage decorations and more! If the Parade is cancelled on December 14th, we will move it to December 15th. Please check one or (hopefully!) both dates below.

You will be assigned a location along the Parade Route at a minor intersection. You will signal any traffic to stop until the Parade has passed. For those who would like to watch the whole Parade AND volunteer, this is a great and much needed role. Marshals will receive a reflective vest and a set of simple instructions.  If the Parade is cancelled on December 14th, we will move it to December 15th.
