The Wakanda Investment Group was founded by leaders of the 24/7 Black Leadership Advancement Consortium as an intentional and direct approach to address disparities highlighted by the 24/7 Wallstreet Report (the report designated Waterloo/Cedar Falls as the worst place in the US for African Americans, currently we are #3). The investment group mission is to create an eco-system of knowledgeable investors and generate wealth by purchasing stocks, mutual funds, and bonds. We leverage our wealth by sharing in the responsibility of learning, risks, and rewards.

There is a unique set of financial literacy skills that accompany the journey to creating financial wealth; information that is not always readily available to underrepresented populations. We seek to continue the Building Wealth financial empowerment series to connect with historically marginalized and underbanked populations to increase financial empowerment and resiliency skills, reach economic goals and explore asset building.

Classes are from 10am to noon and take place in a hybrid of virtual and in person settings..
