Dates: Tuesday, May 28- Friday, June 21 (Tuesday-Friday)
Classes will begin promptly at 7:45 am and will conclude at 11:30am. **The band
class will be afternoon session 11:45 am- 3:15 pm while the Theater class will be all day 7:45-3:15 for the first two weeks.
COURSE OFFERINGS:
*Credit Recovery through Launch-This course is for students who have
failed a course and are in need of making up credit. This is in person/seated during
the entire summer school morning session.
*Drivers Education- ***CLASS IS FULL as of 5/2 2:45pm*** This is a no fee course. There will be ONE DAY of classroom session on Friday, May 24th from 8am-noon. Students will then arrange
driving times with the instructor. Students must be 15 years of age by May 24th
in order to be eligible to take this course. This course has a limit on the
number of students. It will be first come first served based on time
stamp of registration.
*A+ Tutoring- This ½ credit course fulfills the A+ program 50 hour
tutoring requirement. Students will be assigned to a teacher in the elementary
or middle school. This is in person. Students must have completed their
freshmen year.
*Theater & Stagecraft- This is a class with Mr. Barker that
involves working on projects at the stage and preparing for next school years
plays. This is in person and will be all day, 7:45-3:15 for the first two weeks only. This class
counts as an elective credit.
*HS Lab Band- This is a class with Mrs. Palomo that
allows students to learn a new instrument. Prior musical knowledge is not required. This is in person and will be
in the afternoon session. This class counts as an elective credit.
*Credit Enrichment through Launch- Several enrichment courses are
available through Launch. Check out their website
(https://fueledbylaunch.com/academics/course-catalog/) to see if any of these
enrichment courses may interest you. Core and EOC tested courses cannot be
taken through launch in the summer (with the exception of Personal Finance).
All classes will need to be approved by Mrs. Peck. These courses will
operate through the Springfield summer school calendar beginning on June 3rd and will be done online from home. Once you request enrollment, more
info will come from Coach Peck with your log in info and the guidelines to
taking a summer Launch class.
