Participant Information
Please join us at this year’s Southie Family Fun Day event!  Applications are now available and the rules and requirements to participate will be enforced.  Space is limited and will be reserved on a first come – first served basis.  Groups/organizations wishing to participate will receive confirmation of their times no later than May 31st.  

Application must be returned to no later than May 18th.  If no application is received your space may be offered to other interested organizations. Should you have any questions, please contact Julia at SouthBostonFamilyFunDay@gmail.com or (413) 687-2143.  In addition, all participants are REQUIRED to stay until the end of the event at 4PM.

Every participating member or organization are encouraged to provide a free activity.  Examples include bubbles, water tables, face painting, or a craft project.  We do not allow “Oriental Trading” items or hard candy that is too small for very young children, or items that tend to break easily.  These items may make up a significant portion of the trash that we pick up from the grounds during cleanups so we would like to avoid them.  All FREE activity/items must be approved by the Southie Family Fun Day Committee and must be included on your application at the time of submission, otherwise your application will be returned to you.  

Please note: When planning for children’s activities, please come prepared for approximately 500 children

Every organization is required to send 1 adult representative from their group to the event and should show up 30 minutes prior to their scheduled time and everyone is expected to stay until the job/performance is completed. If you plan to have a tent/venue at the event you must have your crew at the grounds by 10AM. Tents larger than 10x10 require Dept. of Public Safety approval and will not be permitted without prior approval. NO ONE can represent more than one organization and please MAKE IT A POINT TO CLEAN YOUR AREA when you leave. We strongly urge all participants to stay for the day.

All organizations offering food items of any type are required to attain a food handlers permit which must be displayed at Southie Family Fun Day. Please check with the State of Ma., City of Boston and Department of Conservation and Recreation for specific requirements.  FOOD VENDORS MUST HAVE A WORKING FIRE EXTINGUISHER AT THEIR BOOTH ON SOUTHIE FAMILY FUN DAY.
Any violations could result in additional fees or booth “shut down” for the participant/organization involved.

All participants are limited to the confines of their assigned space unless other arrangements have been approved.  It is
highly recommended that you provide a tent/awning/covering for your space as it can be very hot on the field.  

Only items that are listed on your application and have been pre-approved may be provided at your booth. NO EXCEPTIONS

NOTE:  The supply for electricity access is limited. IF YOU HAVE A NEED FOR A GENERATOR, PLEASE BRING ONE AND INDICATE THAT ON THE APPLICATION. NO ONE IS TO PLUG IN A COFFEE POT, LIGHT SET OR OTHER ELECTRICAL DEVICE WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION. WE DON’T WANT TO BE SITTING ON THE FIELD WITHOUT ANY POWER AT ALL.   Please be considerate of everyone involved.  We all want to enjoy the day.   Thank you for your cooperation
