Thank you for your interest in fostering through HSWM! We often send adult cats into foster homes when they become ill and need to get out of the shelter environment for their health to improve or have become very stressed in the shelter and need a break so we can see their true personality flourish in a home environment. Adult cats are typically in foster homes from 2-4 weeks.

Kittens typically come into our care from April/May until September/October. We get litters with moms and litters without, we also sometimes get neonatal kittens without a mom that need to be bottle fed. You can expect to foster kittens anywhere from 2-10 weeks, depending on how big they are when we send them out to foster.

HSWM will provide you with all the supplies required to foster, and we provide all medical care.
After you fill out the application, the foster coordinator will contact you when there is a cat or litter of kittens that fits your preferences and is in need of a foster home.
