Unite UW is an on-campus cross-cultural exchange program under CIRCLE and the Division of Student Life, open to current matriculated students at the University of Washington, Seattle, catered towards undergraduates. We provide an inviting and judgement-free environment for domestic and international students to connect to each other and to UW, with the goal of enhancing their undergraduate experience. Through Unite UW, many Huskies have found their best friends and a home-like community. We hope you do too!

Unite UW Fall 2023 is a 7-week commitment, including a 2-night retreat at Pack Forest. We will carefully select 90 participants to meet & mingle through a series of fun cultural/leadership bonding activities (see schedule below). Please fill out the application thoughtfully so we can get to know you.

Unite UW will also select 15 facilitators to lead small groups of 5-7 participants each. We are looking for people who are compassionate, responsible, open-minded, and committed to the mission of Unite UW. Facilitator time commitment includes: planned program activities, training, plus self-initiated weekly group meet-ups outside of the program. Facilitators receive a small stipend upon satisfactory evaluation result with demonstrated time commitment. Past experience in Unite UW as a Participant and familiarity with the program is strongly encouraged.

Unite UW Winter 2024 Schedule (tentative)
Note about Retreats:
Retreats in Unite UW are core bonding experiences that establish the foundation of vulnerability and trust upon which relationships are built for the duration of the program and beyond.

If you cannot make the full program retreat, we recommend that you apply in a future quarter. Facilitators must also be able to make the facilitator retreat as it is a foundational bonding and learning experience.
Schedule Explanation
The Unite UW Winter cohort is subdivided into 3 programs, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. If selected, participants will choose one of these programs based on availability. There will be one weekday meeting and one weekend activity every week for the duration of the program
Note about Time and Participation:
Due to the monetary constraints of the Unite UW program, you can only be a participant for one quarter during your time at the University of Washington, Seattle. If you have any significant time conflicts with the schedule above, we recommend applying during a quarter where you have the time to fully commit to the program.

Unite UW does not provide automatic friendship. However, it does provide a safe, fun and accepting environment for you to seek what you want from the program. Unite UW can be a place to learn about different ethnic cultures and learn about the personal values and stories of others. It can be a place to have fun with others, and build a community that supports you throughout your time at UW and beyond. Unite UW is where you can meet like-minded people who also want all of the above.

We rely on you to show up and engage with the program to help us build that community. If you are willing and able to commit the time to get the full participant experience, then we very much look forward to reading your application!
