THIS GRANT PROGRAM IS FUNDED BY THE CITY'S MEASURE US. THESE FUNDS SUPPORT PUBLIC HEALTH, CLIMATE CHANGE EFFORTS, AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT IN THE CITY.
The Nonprofit Partnership (TNP) will be administering City of Long Beach Grants for youth programming that will take place during Summer 2022.
Grants will be issued to nonprofit organizations that provide summer programs for youth aged 8-24 residing in the City of Long Beach and that are most impacted by crime, COVID-19, poverty, and chronic health conditions. This program supports the goals found in the Long Beach Youth and Young Adults Strategic Plan (YSP). In particular, the prioritized goals are:
* Goal 2: Physical Health, Mental Health, and Emotional Wellness.
Objective 1: Strengthen, scale and fund local community-based organizations to increase availability of culturally relevant health, mental health, and wellness services.
Example Activity: Develop and sustain family-centered approaches to health, mental health, and trauma to build family resiliency through community-place-based efforts.
* Goal 3: Planning for the Future
Objective 2: Increase private sector engagement and commitment to support youth development.
Example Activity 1: Engage industry leaders in the design and implementation of career development activities including mentorship opportunities.
Example Activity 2: Expand partnerships among industry and community-based organizations providing workforce development services for youth.
* Goal 4: Community Care: Social Connectedness
Objective 1: Create open spaces that reflect the needs of young people.
Example Activity: Partner with academic and faith-based institutions to expand use of campuses as community hubs and resource centers.
Objective 2: Create and sustain youth-led platforms that promote inclusive spaces and equity.
Example Activity 1: Create virtual platforms for ongoing youth dialogue on youth development issues including immigration, racial healing, and social/economic inclusivity.
Example Activity 2: Collaboratively design and implement intergenerational services that support youth and their families, promote libraries and other community spaces as positive and supportive spaces that foster these activities.
* Goal 6: Transportation
Objective 2: Increase access to safe transportation.
Example Activity: Support youth-informed bike-ability and walk-ability initiatives and infrastructure improvement.

Grants will be $10,000 for single organizations and $25,000 for collaborations between organizations.
Eligibility: All nonprofit organizations operating youth programming within the city limits of Long Beach are eligible to apply to potentially receive funding for projects to be completed by October 14, 2022. Grant applications will close Wednesday, July 20th at 5pm. Funding decisions will be made in late July.
Grantees will be required to participate in a kick-off meeting and virtual Summer Learning Circle sessions facilitated by The Nonprofit Partnership on the following dates:
• Kick-Off Meeting with City of Long Beach & TNP- Thursday 8/4 10-11am
• Learning Circle 1- Thursday 8/18 10am-11:30am
• Learning Circle 2- Thursday 9/1 10am-11:30am
• Learning Circle 3- Thursday 9/15 10am-11:30am
The purpose of these sessions is to encourage more networking and connections among grantees in addition to creating deeper dialogue with the City of Long Beach on the factors impacting youth programming today.
Grantees will also be required to participate in the Long Beach Youth Festival on September 24, 2022 at Billie Jean King Library and Lincoln Park. More details to come.
Grantees will be required to submit a report at the end of their project, including the following:

successes

challenges
