Spartan Girls Who Code is an MSU student-led coding club introducing 6-12th grade students to the wide world of computing. Combining games and mini-projects with guest speakers and team-building activities, SGWC is more than just another extracurricular—it’s a community. We believe coding should be fun, and we aim to make it so!
If you don't know how to code, we'll teach you. If you do know how to code, we'll teach you to code better. SGWC is a program for everyone—anybody can learn to code! All you'll need is access to the internet via a laptop (Windows, Mac, Linux or Chromebooks will work).
Programming will run for 10 weeks, beginning Saturday, January 21st and ending Saturday, April 15th. Meetings will be held from 10a-12p ET each Saturday morning via zoom.
To maintain an optimal student-instructor ratio, we may need to limit registrations. If necessary, we will prioritize students who have had fewer experiences with coding, come from a school district that does not offer programming courses, or come from a community that is underrepresented in computing. As such, submitting this form indicates interest in SGWC but does not guarantee a seat in the program.
Registration will remain open until Wednesday, November 16th. Notifications of acceptance will be sent no later than Friday, November 18th, and will include instructions for completing registration.
