Port Chester Public Schools was pleased to announce earlier in March that we would be hosting a special summer program for interested families.  The window to complete the form to express interest in enrolling your child(ren) ended on Friday, March 18, 2022.  Many parents expressed an interest in our summer program.

If you are interested but missed out on the opportunity to sign up, then please complete this form to express your interest and become part of a wait list in case we have openings for your child(ren).  Below is information about the summer program. Additional information about the program can be found on the district website.

WHAT? —  The CLASS Summer Program will be modeled on a full school day. Half of each day will be dedicated to strengthening student literacy, mathematics, and STEM skills through direct and interactive instruction from certified teachers in small groups.  The other half of the day will be spent on other enrichment and physical activities.  Offerings may vary depending on student grade level.

WHO? —  The Program will be open to all incoming kindergarten students through incoming ninth grade students enrolled in Port Chester Public Schools.  In other words, students about to enter Kindergarten in the fall of 2022 all the way through current eighth graders will be eligible to participate.

WHEN? — The Program will begin on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.  It will operate from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 daily, Monday through Friday, until Friday, August 12, 2022.  Breakfast and lunch will be provided daily at no cost. Sample schedule:
  •   8:00-8:30 Arrival and Breakfast
  •   8:30-11:30 Morning Session
  •   11:30-12:30 Lunch and Social Time
  •   12:30-3:30 Afternoon Session
  •   3:30 Dismissal

WHERE? — Elementary programs for incoming Kindergarten students through current fourth grade students will operate at three of our elementary schools.  Students zoned for and attending JFK Elementary School will attend at JFK; students zoned for and attending Edison Elementary School will attend at Edison; students zoned for and attending King Street Elementary School will attend at King; and students zoned for and attending Park Avenue Elementary School will attend at King because of construction going on at Park Avenue School.
Students currently in fifth grade, sixth grade, seventh grade, and eighth grade will attend at Port Chester Middle School, splitting their time between the Middle School campus and the Carver Center.

HOW TO GET ON THE WAIT LIST?
USE THE FOLLOWING SURVEY TO RECORD YOUR INTEREST IN YOUR CHILD(REN) PARTICIPATING IN OUR SUMMER PROGRAM AND GETTING ONTO THE WAIT LIST IF OPENINGS OCCUR.  WE WILL BE LIMITED IN THE TOTAL NUMBER OF STUDENTS THAT WE CAN ACCOMMODATE BY FUNDING, STAFFING, AND SPACE ISSUES.  PLEASE COMPLETE A SEPARATE FORM FOR EACH CHILD IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD.  THANK YOU FOR COMPLETING THIS FORM BY 9:00 P.M. ON FRIDAY APRIL 22, 2022, WHEN WE WILL NEED TO BEGIN TO MAKE FINAL ROSTER DECISIONS.  IF IT IS POSSIBLE TO ADD WAITLISTED CHILDREN, WE WILL NOTIFY YOU BY THE END OF APRIL. OUR AIM IS TO HAVE FINAL ROSTERS IN PLACE FOR OUR SUMMER PROGRAM BY MAY 1, 2022.

Las Escuelas Públicas de Port Chester anunciaron a principios de marzo que organizarán un programa especial de verano para las familias interesadas. La ventana para completar el formulario para expresar interés en inscribir a su(s) hijo(s) finalizó el viernes 18 de marzo de 2022. Muchos padres expresaron interés en nuestro programa de verano.

Si está interesado pero se perdió la oportunidad de inscribirse, complete este formulario para expresar su interés y formar parte de una lista de espera en caso de que tengamos vacantes para su(s) hijo(s). ¿QUÉ? — El programa de verano CLASS se modelará en un día escolar completo. La mitad de cada día se dedicará a fortalecer las habilidades de alfabetización, matemáticas y STEM de los estudiantes a través de la instrucción directa e interactiva de maestros certificados en grupos pequeños. La otra mitad del día se dedicará a otras actividades físicas y de enriquecimiento. Las ofertas pueden variar dependiendo del nivel de grado del estudiante.

¿QUIÉN? — El programa estará abierto a todos los estudiantes que ingresan al jardín de infantes hasta los estudiantes que ingresan al noveno grado inscritos en las Escuelas Públicas de Port Chester. En otras palabras, los estudiantes que estén a punto de ingresar al jardín de infantes en el otoño de 2022 hasta los estudiantes actuales de octavo grado serán elegibles para participar.

¿CUÁNDO? — El Programa comenzará el martes 5 de julio de 2022. Operará de 8:00 a. m. a 3:30 p. m. todos los días, de lunes a viernes, hasta el viernes 12 de agosto de 2022. Se brindará desayuno y almuerzo todos los días sin costo alguno. Horario muestra

¿DONDE? — Los programas de primaria para los estudiantes que ingresan al jardín de infantes hasta los estudiantes actuales de cuarto grado operarán en tres de nuestras escuelas primarias. Los estudiantes divididos en zonas y que asisten a la escuela primaria JFK asistirán a JFK; los estudiantes divididos en zonas y que asisten a la Escuela Primaria Edison asistirán a Edison; los estudiantes divididos en zonas y que asisten a la Escuela Primaria King Street asistirán a King; y los estudiantes divididos en zonas y que asisten a la Escuela Primaria Park Avenue asistirán a King debido a la construcción que se está realizando en la Escuela Park Avenue.
Los estudiantes que actualmente cursan quinto, sexto, séptimo y octavo grado asistirán a la Escuela Intermedia Port Chester, dividiendo su tiempo entre el campus de la Escuela Intermedia y el Centro Carver.

GRACIAS POR COMPLETAR ESTE FORMULARIO ANTES DE LAS 9:00 P.M. EL VIERNES 22 DE ABRIL DE 2022, CUANDO TENDREMOS QUE COMENZAR A TOMAR LAS DECISIONES FINALES DE LAS CLASES.
