Knee Hold; may be used to provide maximal support to highly unbalanced riders.

Ankle Hold; may be used to provide minimal support to riders progressing toward independence.

Toe Hold; may be used to help the rider vault on to their horse's back.

Place two fingers between the underside of the rider's chin and the helmet strap. Then place two fingers between the eyebrow and helmet rim.

Place four fingers beside the rider's ear and one hand on the top of the helmet.

Helmets are not required during therapeutic riding activities.
