Use this form to nominate yourself or a colleague for an open position on the CCC DECO Executive Committee. Positions up for election in 2023 include Vice President/President-Elect (3-year term: first year as Vice President, second year as President, and third year as Immediate Past President), and Public Information Officer (2-year-term). The persons elected for these positions will take office beginning July 1, 2023.
The Vice President / President / Immediate Past President role in the first year assists the president, and acts in that role when designated, in leading the monthly Executive Committee meetings, collaborating on monthly online membership meetings, collaboratively deciding on and implementing annual goals, leading advocacy on behalf of constituents, and organizing and leading the CCC Annual Retreat at the Online Teaching Conference. The President and Vice President, together with the Treasurer, are also co-signers for banking and other financial concerns. In the second year, the Vice President takes on the role as president, leading the efforts above mentioned. In the third year of the term, the Immediate Past President assists the president as needed and contributes expertise to the group.
The Public Information Officer participates in monthly executive board meetings and the work of the executive board; assists the Vice President and President in planning and running monthly membership meetings; helps to develop online materials for monthly meetings; sends regular DECO email communications and monitors the DECO organizational email; and provides support for other organizational communication as needed.
Voting will take place at CCC DECO’s Annual Meeting on Wednesday, June 21, during the Distance Education Coordinators Annual Retreat on the first day of the Online Teaching Conference in Long Beach, CA.
The candidate need not be present at the Retreat in order to run for a position.
