The 1.5 mile section of 1st Avenue S between Grant St. and Lake St. is due to be reconstructed as the pavement condition is failing. The project will also upgrade a portion of the Whittier Lyndale Bikeway.
This project was originally scheduled to be completed in 2023 and 2024. Unfortunately Minneapolis Public Works has now delayed the reconstruction until 2024 and 2025, leaving the potholes and substandard bikeway protections in place for an additional year.
