Nashua River Rail Trail Pepperell: Volunteer Garlic Mustard Removal Event to Celebrate Earth Month 2024
Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 9:00 am to Noon

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!

Join friends and neighbors as we celebrate Earth Month 2024 with a volunteer invasive garlic mustard removal event on the Nashua River Rail Trail in Pepperell. Volunteers will pull invasive plants in order to improve the ecosystem along the Rail Trail. Invasive plants can crowd out native species and negatively impact habitat for our local pollinators, birds, and other wildlife.

Volunteers should gather at 8:45am at the Rail Trail parking lot on Main Street (Rt. 113) in downtown Pepperell, MA. Some work gloves will be available for use, but if possible, volunteers are asked to bring their own. Be sure to dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, and a hat; consider bug repellant and sunscreen. Be sure to bring drinking water. Any participants under 18 years of age  need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

This event is hosted by the Nashua River Watershed Association, with support from the US Department of Agriculture, and in partnership with the Pepperell Invasive Species Committee. This event is part of Pepperell's 2024 Garlic Mustard Challenge.
