Hands4Hope - Youth Making a Difference has partnered with ASPIREKids and is teaming up to create the ASPIRE Outfitters Committee. ASPIRE Outfitters is an ASPIREKids program which provides clothes for vulnerable youth. Members of this committee will be responsible for helping to organize and implement this program out of ASPIREKids new location, next door to the Hands4Hope Placerville Youth Center.

A Little Background on ASPIREKids from Jodi, Aspire Kids Director:  ASPIRE Outfitters is an ASPIREKids program which provides clothes for vulnerable youth.  The youth we serve typically fall into three areas; newly placed in foster care, where they arrive with a resource family with very little clothing and often with their things in a garbage bag, homeless children and teens and children and teens living in very low income circumstances where families are struggling to meet the needs of their children.  Requests for clothing come from social workers, therapists and schools and ASPIREKids provides the youth with a new duffel bag full of gently used and new clothing they are proud to wear to school.

ASPIRE Outfitters Committee members will have the opportunity to identify and create processes for this program, including donation intake, organization and storage of donated items, request from partner agencies, and packaging and distribution of clothing. In addition to this, the committee will identify needed items and create events and campaigns to collect or raise funds for these. This is a wonderful opportunity to serve members of our community in most need.

The ASPIRE Outfitters Committee will be made up of youth and adult mentors, including youth committee leadership positions of Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary. Committee meetings will begin in June 2022 and run through the 2022-23 program year (ending May 31, 2023), at which time committee members may choose to remain on or drop off the committee.

**For the success of this program, it is essential that committee members be able to meet once a month for committee meetings and provide support for outreach and organizing events throughout the year.**
