As part of our commitment to making nō theatre accessible to a diverse audience, a segment of our activities focuses on educational outreach. Through this initiative, we aim to enrich understanding and appreciation of nō by offering tours and introductions to students and young adults before performances.

Tour: We will visit places and explore concepts of martial arts and poetry featured in the nō play Tadanori with a Discover Noh in Kyoto guide before actually seeing the performance in the theatre.

Play: Tadanori
The main play that we will watch is about Taira no Tadanori, a famed poet and noble warrior of Heike. When a travelling priest visits his grave beneath a flowering cherry tree, Tadanori's ghost appears and retells how he had died in the battle, and about a poem that keeps him coming back to this world.

Fees: Free tickets for high school/university students and under age 29 (Please bring valid ID) *Please pay for your own transportation and personal expenses (There will be a lunch break before the performance begins, so please bring or buy your own lunch).
