Award #1: Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year (RYDY)
The purpose of the RYDY award is to recognize the competence and activities of younger dietitians in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and to encourage their continued participation in association affairs. Award nominees should meet the following criteria:

-Member of AND
-35 years or younger; Is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist
-Demonstrates concern for the promotion of optimal health and nutritional status of the population
-Demonstrates leadership either in the RIAND/AND, legislation, research, education, management, or employment

Award #2: Emerging Dietetic Leader Award (EDL)
The EDL Award recognizes the competence and activities of dietitians regardless of their age, who have made distinctive contributions early in their dietetics careers to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Nominees should meet the following criteria:

-Member of AND
-Is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, or Dietetic Technician, Registered
-5-10 years of professional practice experience
-Demonstrates concern for the promotion of optimal health and nutritional status of the population
-Demonstrates leadership either in the RIAND/AND, legislation, research, education, management, community or employment

Award #3: Outstanding Dietitian of the Year (ODY)
The ODY Award recognizes the commitment to excellence made by an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and service to the profession. The nominee should meet the following criteria:

-Member of AND
-Is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist
-Demonstrates leadership either in the RIAND/AND, legislation, research, education, management, community or employment
Meets two of the following criteria:
-Active participation and service in RIAND or another volunteer organization
-Serves as a role model to other dietitians
-Increases awareness of the role of a dietitian or connects RDs to the community or other professionals

Award #4: 24 Carrot Award
The 24 Carrot Award was established by RIAND in 1997 to recognize individuals or organizations for their distinctive contributions to the fields of dietetics, public health, or health promotion. Past recipients of the 24 Carrot Award have been Barbara Morse (2002), Alan Shawn Feinstein (2003), New England Dairy and Food Council (2005), Shape up RI (2008), Jack Reed (2012), Michelle Obama (2014). The nominee can be an individual or organization that contributes to the field of dietetics, public health, or health promotion.

Award #5: Retired Dietitian of the Year
This award is to recognize a retired Dietitian that continues to contribute to the field of nutrition and dietetics in a positive way. This award highlights commitment to the field, both during and after retirement. The Retired Dietitian of the Year award is presented to an ongoing role model and trusted source of nutrition expertise.

Award #6: The Courtney Huard Compassion Award
The purpose of the award is to honor Courtney Huard, who was passionate about her work and sincerely cared about those she worked with. This award recognizes a person in the dietetics field who demonstrates passion for the field of nutrition and dietetics through patience and empathy, with a genuine interest in the clients or population they serve. 
The nominee should meet the following criteria:

- Student, dietetic intern, dietitian, or works in the field of nutrition
- Demonstrates passion for the job and career in nutrition
- Demonstrates empathy for the population served
