Photographic Permission Form

Dear Parent/Guardian

Sometimes we take photographs of children either at the school or when they are involved in organised activities away from the school site.  We may use the pictures in school publications, such as the prospectus, and on our website.  We may also occasionally make video recordings for use by the school.  To comply with the Data Protection Act 2018, we need your permission to photograph or make any recordings of your child.

All children in the Early Years Foundation Stage are photographed routinely as part of our assessment using Tapestry. The use of Tapestry will be fully explained to parents at the induction evening before the children start school.

Sometimes we show small clips of video to lead a literacy lesson or as background information for a project.  The clip may be from a PG film but will always have been viewed by the teacher first.  Are you happy for your child to view this? *

Important information:

I understand that the school policy is for parents NOT to take pictures/videos during assemblies, church services or on sports days. (This is also church policy for such occasions, agreed by the Church Council.) However, if the opportunity arises after the class assembly, parents may take pictures of their own children.

We ask parents to understand that, in a large school like St Martin’s, there are a number of children who must not be photographed and we ask every parent and carer to fully respect our policy in this regard.

*
I understand that the office will make a record of my preferences and ensure that class teachers are made aware of them. If I wish to change my preferences as my child/children progress through the school, it is my responsibility to email the school office of any changes. *
I give permission for my child to go on local visits eg. nature walks, geographical walks, visits to local churches, The Dorking Halls and local schools. *
