April is National Poetry Month and as part of our celebration here at
2 Rules of Writing, we share our 30 Days 30 Poems project. Our project has three goals:
1. to encourage people who don't read poetry to try it out by sharing a wide variety of poems,
2. to encourage everyone to dig just a little deeper into the canon of poetry we're exposed to throughout our education,
3. to share new or less familiar poets whose work we love with readers.
In order to do this, we ask our readers and friends to share some of their favorite poems with us so that we can feature the poems throughout the month.
Feel free to nominate as many poems as you like, just use a separate form for each one. Please note that the text of the poem must be available online at a website like poets.org or poetryfoundation.org. If you want to nominate a poem that is not widely available online, please email us at
