Thank you for your interest in the Welcome the World Fair 2024! We are very excited to continue this initiative to collaborate, educate and celebrate diversity here on campus! This is a part of Lakehead University's contribution to the County of Simcoe's annual #ITSTARTS diversity campaign happening throughout March.
Our Fair date is Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 12-3pm. The Fair encourages members of our campus community to share their experiences studying, working, researching, living abroad and/or sharing their cultural ties with their peers. We are looking for passionate individuals in the Lakehead community who would be willing to share their stories based on a particular country. We are eager to have as many campus community members as possible potentially having multiple representatives at each table, engaging with the school community during part or all of the fair. Staff from our International office will be providing support with planning and hosting. Once you have registered, you will be contacted by the International office to discuss your content, supplies for your table, and the details of the event. This opportunity is open to ALL students, staff, and faculty. We Welcome the World by sharing our stories and learning from the stories of others!
Visitors to the Fair will be encouraged to visit various tables to collect stamps in their passport and be entered into a draw for prizes.
