Thank you for your interest in Wilmington Christian School's International Program. We have a wonderful supportive program that helps each student reach his/her education goals.  Our program is structured to provide on campus support each week and selects and monitors the host family experience. Monthly activities and events are planned to create a fun and warm family atmosphere at WCS.  As we partner with our local agencies, we work to provide strong communication during the admissions process and overall experience at WCS.

Please read the INTERNATIONAL STUDENT AGREEMENT: Typing your name below provides a digital signature, committing the following agreement to abide by these rules while at Wilmington Christian.  1.The international family and student must read and sign the Wilmington Christian School Handbook, ISP Discipline Policy, and Host Family Handbook.They must adhere to the INTERNATIONAL STUDENT AGREEMENT to all rules at all times. Failure to comply with school rules will result in dismissal from Wilmington Christian School.   2.We are a Christian School. International students must be respectful during daily prayer times and various chapels or services. As part of the curriculum, all students are required to attend Bible classes and complete the class requirements.    3.You will be expected to attend church with your host family each week on Sunday, as well as family events which your family asks you to attend.   4. International students are expected to speak English during the school day. Students may have translators in school, but they are NOT permitted to use them during assessments (tests, quizzes, etc.). Students are expected to sit up in their chair or desk, maintain eye contact, and be attentive during class, showing teachers respect and that you are ready to learn. 5.Students are required to be in full compliance with the school’s uniform policy as stated in the handbook. Uniforms must be purchased at Lands End (online) or at our school resale.   6.According to SEVIS regulations, international students must be in school on all regulation school days with the exception of a medical emergency. Tardiness and unlawful absence from school (more than four days) will not be tolerated and will result in the immediate reporting of absence to SEVIS officials, which could lead to the termination of the student’s I-20. Students are required to attend school the entire duration of the school year and may not return home prior to the last day of school.      7.Violation of any state or federal law of the United States of America will result in the student’s immediate dismissal from Wilmington Christian School and termination of the I-20.     8. An international student is not allowed any type of employment as a condition of the student’s visa.     9.A student who terminates an agency contract will not be permitted to remain at Wilmington Christian School as an independent student.        10.Tuition and fees must be paid prior to the first day of school by the agency. International Student Program and application fees are non-refundable. Failure to pay in a timely manner may result in student dismissal, termination of I-20, and denial of transcript release. If a student leaves or is dismissed for any reason all payments are non-refundable.  11.All new International Students who enter 10th -12th grades are required to bring an Official Sealed Transcript from previous high schools to WCS or must mail them to our school.  12.It is the intent of Wilmington Christian School to honor the rules and regulations of the agencies with which we choose to work. For that reason, agency rules must be followed at all times. Failure to do so may result in dismissal.  13.Wilmington Christian School has a no-drive policy for students. *(see ISP coordinator for further explanation)  14.Using the internet is a privilege and may be used for homework, research, and communication with family and friends. You may not view any pornography or engage in any sexual or violent behaviors by use of the internet.   15.Students must refrain from any kind of sexual behavior or activity. Students who become pregnant or are responsible for pregnancy will be returned to their home country.    16.Students may not use threatening words or body language, or engage in violence towards any person, animal or object. 17. Students must read and sign our International Student Discipline Policy. When students fail to obey International or WCS policies, an Incident Report will be issued by the Program Coordinator and signed by families. These reports will identify the problem, share our expectations, and list the discipline assigned. Students, Hosts, and Parent/Guardian are required to sign, stating they are aware of the incident, the discipline, and expectations of WCS. Three Incident Reports are grounds for dismissal, but at any time the school reserves the right to remove a student from the school and the International Student Program for serious or offensive behaviors that present concern or potential danger to the host family and/or student.  18.You must acquire medical insurance to cover the entire period of your stay before your arrival in the USA. You should carry your insurance card with you at all times and makes sure your host family has a copy too. You will be responsible for any costs linked to medical treatment.  19.Any planned trips must be communicated to the Program and Host Coordinators prior to making reservations. Students are required to complete the WCS International Student Trip Permission Form. WCS, Host family, Agencies and parent/guardian must approve travel. Students 18 and older, may travel independently but are required to have permission from their parent/guardian. Students under 18 (minors) MUST have an adult over 25 present during the travel. Students who do not follow our travel policy will receive an Incident Report. Continual abuse of the travel policy are grounds for dismissal. When traveling, students are expected to call/text and check-in with the host family or coordinators upon arrival, during the trip, and prior to departure. Student safety is our priority. HomeStay Release: The following liability release is for students who request to be placed in a homestay by Wilmington Christian School. The student and their parent(s)/or guardian must sign this form prior to the student being placed in a homestay. Parent/Legal Guardian: “We request to have our child, placed in a homestay by Wilmington Christian School. We acknowledge that we, not the host family or Wilmington Christian School will be held responsible for our child’s actions while he/she lives in the United States. We agree to hold harmless and to release all liabilities against Wilmington Christian School, and the host family chosen to host our child, including all claims against Wilmington Christian School or the independent contractor working on behalf of Wilmington Christian School and the host family for any injury, loss, damage, accident, delay, death, or expense resulting from participation in the homestay program. Medical Release: I hereby give Wilmington Christian School permission for my child to receive emergency medical treatment at a hospital or medical center designated by the host family. This emergency medical treatment may include surgery, if deemed necessary by the attending physician.The undersigned and/or sponsors identified in the Affidavit of Financial Support, shall be liable and agrees to pay all costs and expenses incurred in connection with such medical and dental services rendered to the aforementioned son/daughter pursuant to this authorization. Should it be necessary for my son/daughter to return home, due to medical reasons or otherwise, the undersigned shall assume all transportation costs and expenses.I give permission for my child to receive medical attention and medication as deemed necessary by the attending physician or recognized health care provider.We, the undersigned (parents/legal guardians) hereby release Wilmington Christian School, its Board of Directors, Student Coordinators, Host Family Guarantors, Host Families, and Academic Institutions from any and all current and future claims, charges, costs and/or causes of action for loss of property, personal injury, illness, accident or death sustained by my child during the time that he/she is participating in the program, whether covered by current insurance or not. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless all of the above named from any and all liabilities, including liabilities to third parties, which may arise from my child’s participation in the program. Travel Policies: We, the undersigned (parents/legal guardians), authorize our child to travel within the out of town guidelines established by the Wilmington Christian School program. We accept full responsibility for our child’s participation in any approved travel/activities and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Wilmington Christian School, its American partners, independent contractors, and host family from any claims and/or liability to third parties arising from our child’s participation.It is understood by signing this Travel Release/Authorization in advance it eliminates the need to receive approved signatures for any Wilmington Christian School approved travel/activity for the duration of the child’s participation in the Wilmington Christian School program.Students desiring to participate in travel/activities not approved by the Wilmington Christian School program must follow the travel guidelines. Release of Promotion: We, the undersigned, grant Wilmington Christian School permission to use photographs and any other materials, in which the participant/child may appear, for promotion or publicity of future programs. Athletic Eligibility: International and domestic students are encouraged to participate in a wide range of extra curricular activities that are offered at WCS.  To be in compliance with Delaware Internscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) policy, F-1 International students desiring to participate in the high school athletic program are required to agree to the following conditions: I am enrolling as a student at Wilmington Christian School (WCS) for education reasons and not for the purpose of participating in interscholastic athletics. In addition, I was not recruited by the school or any other organization for the purpose of participating in athletics.  I understand my participation is limited to sub-varsity (JV) for the first year of attendance and I will not be eligible for state tournament competition at that time.  If there is no JV team, my participation is limited to practices only.  I am required to comply with all other school and DIAA policies governing the participation in interscholastic athletic competition.  THE DIGITAL SIGNATURE BELOW STATES THAT WE UNDERSTAND THE ABOVE RULES/POLICY REGARDING ATHLETICS AND OUR SON/DAUGHTER WILL COMPLY WITH ABOVE MENTIONED POLICY. *
