Student organizations are fundamental to the success of Iowa State University. The Homecoming Central Committee is pleased to provide two different events for any student organization to participate in. These events, though different, provide similar community exposure and engagement. The Homecoming Central Committee encourages all student organizations to participate. Please complete the following application form for participation in either or both events.

Event Overviews:

Homecoming Kickoff Celebration: This new event, set to accompany and follow the Blue Sky 5K, will engage the community in new and exciting ways. The vision is one with music, games, food, beverages, interactive exhibits, and other similar activities. Set to replace the former Homecoming Parade, this exciting event will embrace Iowa State Homecoming history and start the week off on an exciting note.

Date: Sunday, October 30, 2022.

Time: 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.

Location: Iowa State Center and Alumni Center Parking Lots.

ExCYtement in the Streets: This event has been reimagined for the 2022 Homecoming Celebration. Located in the area south of Campus, this event will now feature participation from every Greek organization participating in Homecoming. With three lawn displays, over a dozen pomped displays, CyFactor Finals and local food trucks, this event will be a fresh take on one of Homecoming’s most beloved traditions.

Date: Thursday, November 3, 2022.

Time: 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm.

Location: South of Campus, Between Ash Avenue and Gray Avenue.

b. Interactive Innovation – Allowing the community to participate in a hands-on activity or game, teaching about a specific issue or accomplishment, or teaching the community how to create an art or craft piece.

c. Sale of Goods – Any sale of food, beverage, good, or service. This is approved for both events and can serve as a fundraiser for your club. All goods must be confirmed with the Homecoming Kickoff Committee before the event date. The sale of drugs or alcohol is prohibited.

d. Sample of Goods – Any free sampling of food or beverage. This is approved for both events. All goods must be confirmed with the Homecoming Kickoff Committee before the event date.

e. Performance – Demonstrating for the community your organization’s talent in dance, drama, vocals, or similar. (This includes all performances regardless of stage needs or space requirements).
