Welcome to the 2024 Mercian Marauders programme, an opportunity to represent the region of Mercia in the UK Lions tournament and be involved in a junior performance programme for u13s players. Players from across the Midlands are welcome to be involved.

In 2023, we had over 200 players register to trial for the programme. Following a series of trials and training sessions, we had four teams which entered the UK Lions tournaments. The Boys Championship side finished fourth, whilst the Boys Trophy side also finished fourth. The Girls Championship side finished fifth, whilst the Girls Trophy side were runners-up. A Boys u14s Mercian Marauders side then won the prestigious Repton Cup last summer.

Trials will be held, with three trials sessions for boys and three for girls, leading to the selection of two boys and two girls squads. Dates are as follows (venues to be confirmed, cost c. £30 per trial):

Saturday 27th April

Girls
Tuesday 2nd April
Saturday 20th April
Saturday 4th May

Please note to be eligible for this programme, players must have been born on 1st September 2010 or later, and this is primarily aimed at players in School Years 7 & 8. Highly talented players in Year 6 will be considered and are welcome to trial.

Following signing up, you will receive a confirmation email in due course and then further information will be sent about how to register for the trials sessions.
