Welcome to Polar Impact, an inclusive network of racial & ethnic minorities and allies in the polar research community. Our mission is to support, connect, and highlight the stories of Black, Asian, Indigenous, people of color, and minority ethnic professionals in the polar research community.

We work with a network of awesome volunteers year-round who help us produce fantastic content, events, and outreach. If you would like to volunteer with a specific contribution, please fill out the following form. We look forward to working with you!

Polar Impact aims to create content, events, and outreach year-round, please let us know which specific volunteer projects interest you. Please limit your interests to 3 options.

Art: provide a creative component to our existing projects and social media posts

Compiling DEI Resources: assist in creating a portal/network of DEI resources for members

Events: help coordinate and plan virtual/in-person events

Features- Contemporary: assist in compiling and organizing information on contemporary featured Polar Impact Members

Features- Historic: assist in compiling, researching, and organizing information on historic featured individuals

Mental Health and Wellbeing: assist in compiling resources, providing professional insight, and organizing our upcoming wellbeing workshop

Mentorship: spread awareness of membership opportunities and help compile membership statistics

Newsletter: assist in compiling and organizing quarterly newsletter

Social Media: provide general design, support, and circulation of Polar Impact's social media accounts (Twitter, Instagram)
