Entries For Positivity Week
As we're sure you ae all aware, this month of June is of special significance to the members of the queer community. It is Pride Month, a month dedicated to celebrating the community and raising awareness about queer identities. As a group that works extensively for the LGBTQ+ community, we have come to notice that as one of the many consequences of our current socio-political environment, large parts of the queer experience today are characterized by trends of isolation, oppression, rampant mental health challenges, and trauma from bullying or rejection. It follows that much of the media discussions and representations follow similar trends, while these are important to represent, we also believe that it is crucial for young queer people to see examples of love and positivity to give them hope within this environment.
For this reason, we at Anchor will be hosting a positivity week in the second week of June to share POSITIVE experiences of queer individuals on our social media, whether with allies, other members of the community, or even connections to representations in media. We encourage you to share your experiences (as far as you are comfortable) and pass on that message of joy, hope, and love to others going through the same experience. You can answer any or all of the three questions given below, and can submit multiple responses to the form.
Inclusion of your name or any personal information is entirely optional (however including your batch and gender/sexual identity could be helpful), we will not be collecting email ids of the respondents with the form entries to ensure anonymity, but you may include your name in your response if you wish to.
Happy Pride!!🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈
