Hattiesburg is an award-winning city for the National Association of Town Watch’s flagship program – National Night Out. With an all-hands-on-deck approach, our law enforcement agencies, first responders, city and county officials partner with local businesses and residents to build better relationships that ultimately help all of Hattiesburg’s neighborhoods be a safer, more caring place to live, work and play. Each year we participate in National Night Out with a strong lineup of events because we have found it to be the perfect vehicle to bridge any gaps that may exist between law enforcement and our neighborhoods. This year’s events include:

Thursday, July 25: National Night Out Kick-Off Event
CE Roy Community Center
6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Tuesday, August 6: Lunch & Learn with Law Enforcement, Firemen & Friends
53 Academy Drive
11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Tuesday, August 6: National Night Out Neighborhood Parties
All throughout Hattiesburg
6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

To continue successful participation in this national program, we need your help! By hosting an event in your neighborhood on August 7, you can be a part of continuing the momentum of building better relationships with our law enforcement officers, city officials and more. Your party can be as elaborate as you like, or it can be as simple as grilling hot dogs, sitting around playing games or meeting to discuss quality of life needs for your neighborhood. This event offers allows for you and your neighbors to join together in whatever atmosphere fits your neighborhood best. During this time, city and county officials will make their way to all parties beginning at 6 p.m.

Your organization plays a vital role in the success of this night, and we hope you’ll join us again this year. If you are interested in hosting an event, please detach the form below and return it by June 30. Or, visit hattiesburgms.com/nno and fill out the online form (also by June 30). This will allow us adequate time to order the right amount of shirts – each organization will receive four.
