Community Support Group for those impacted by the overturning of Roe vs. Wade

This is an online zoom event; the link will be provided after registration

The purpose of this group is to bring together members of the community to share their experiences of collective trauma and adverse events. Together, we will spend our time holding the impact of the recent Supreme Court ruling on Roe vs. Wade and supporting each other. This space is one free of judgement and focuses on the benefits of community in healing and the ability to be with difficult emotions. Policies and world events impact people’s lives. This group is created to discuss the emotional impact and provide peer support.

The group will be facilitated by Xihlovo Mabunda, MS, NCC, with the support of other Phoenix Center staff and employ various experiential group processes to promote peer support, connection, and restoration

Disclaimer: This is a peer support group for community members, and not a therapy group. If you are looking for therapy services, please let us know and we can offer services or referrals.

· Confidentiality and Privacy – you agree not to talk about other participants’ sharing outside of the group

· Respect – you agree to respect everyone in the group for who they are, for how they identify, and what they have experienced – regardless of their beliefs or opinions

· Self-Care – you agree to prioritize your self-care during and after the event, taking care of yourself and asking for additional support if needed

· Sharing – you agree to respect other people’s sharing and not speak over others

· Peer-Support – you agree to contribute to supporting others when possible

· Choice – you understand that you can choose to how much or how little you want to disclose in the group based on your comfort level
