Mon Keang Stories
The Mon Keang School, operated by the Wongs' Benevolent Association since 1925, has been entered in as a finalist in the National Trust for Canada's Next Great Save contest! The historic place with the most votes will win $50,000 to help adapt, renew, or improve their space – Mon Keang is Vancouver's only representative in the contest, and their century-old building is in dire need of these funds for repairs to ensure that it can survive for generations to come.

Chinatown Today would like to highlight our community's favourite memories around Mon Keang on our website to help rally support for the contest. Previews of the piece will be posted on instagram as well.

Whether you or your relatives attended Mon Keang pre-2011, or as part of YCC's Saturday School program from 2016-2019, we welcome you to share your story!

Optionally, we also welcome any photos, art work, poetry, etc. relating to Mon Keang, please send them to stories [at] chinatown.today with 'Mon Keang Stories' in the subject.
