LYFT (Leveraging Youth on the Freshman Team) is a freshman transition program for incoming 9th-grade students. The purpose of the program is to provide students with a smooth transition to high school and a greater understanding of how an education will affect their future. Students will tour their new building, learn about the importance of credits, and much more. There will also be videos from local business that will allow students to explore a wide variety of careers. Students will also earn high school elective credit and receive their chrome book early in the first distribution. Attendance is very important in order to earn elective credit. In order to earn credit, students need to have perfect attendance for the week. We hope to make attendance easier by providing the option of transportation, along with daily breakfast and lunch at no cost to our families. The program is one week long and will be conducted from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM or 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM, which can also includes breakfast and/or lunch. This experience will be offered at Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson High School, depending on which high school your student will attend. This session runs June 14 - June 18.
