A Chromebook and its charging adapter will be provided to all full-time students attending either the Eastland or Fairfield Career Center campuses. It shall be the responsibility of the student to care for the equipment and ensure that it is kept in a safe environment. During the student’s Junior and Senior years, this device shall remain the property of Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools (EFCTS).  However, upon graduation, the student will be able to assume ownership of their 1:1 Chromebook device or return it to EFCTS if they do not want to keep said device.

I will follow all expectations and guidelines as outlined in the Student Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).

I assume full responsibility for the Chromebook that was issued to me.

I will not, or have others, install, remove, modify, etc. any software, apps, or hardware components that are not vetted and approved by EFCTS.

I will report technical issues or physical damage to EFCTS in a timely manner to ensure I will have a functional device for educational purposes. Tech issues can be reported to an instructor or by emailing the address support@efcts.freshdesk.com with description of the problem.

If my assigned device is being repaired by the EFCTS Technology Department, and I am given a loaner device, I will abide by the same guidelines and expectations in the use of that device.

Should my child vandalize, lose, or intentionally cause other damage to their assigned device or the assigned device of another student, I will be responsible for the repair or replacement costs of the device in accordance with ORC 3313.642 C2.

I acknowledge my student will follow the guidelines as outlined in the Student AUP and the above.

I will ensure that my student will charge their device battery on a daily basis prior to the start of their instructional day.

I will ensure that my student takes their device with them to school each and every day.

I understand that the device will have ‘Securly’ installed on it to conduct web and content filtering on the device regardless if the device is connected to the EFCTS network, public network, or our home network.

I understand that if my student withdrawals from the EFCTS district or from full-time EFCTS student status the device must be returned to EFCTS upon graduation or by the last day of attendance.

I understand the expectations and guidelines outlined in this document and its referenced document(s) does not and cannot address every possible situation or prohibited behavior of device users.

I understand that Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools makes every effort to ensure that my student’s device is restricted enough to be used only for educational purposes. In the event that my student attempts to circumvent any safeguards that are in place on their device–EFCTS shall not be liable for any activity my student may conduct or engage in on the device.
