Ambulatory Bibliotheca by Gemeinde Köln & Apthk Lab
The Ambulatory Bibliotheca is an under-construction project by which we create a permanent space to visit in Gemeinde Eberplatz as an archive and peripatetic show of gathered archives, documents, clothing, fanzines, or any way of gathered knowledge brought temporarily as visitors into our back room.
Ambulatory as a walking library through hypothetical spaces and as possessed temporarily by guests and embodied by visitors. Ambulatory as a patient that requires care.
We intend to assess the role of places like Gemeinde related to the visitor's flow and statistically when is it more inhabited, also the role of independent public libraries and exhibition spaces in transitory spaces.
This project aims to present an intersectional approach into archives, distant from non alive objects and non-activated documents, rather empowering, it as a meeting space, a gaming room, a study area,
a space that is meaningful and have a worthwhile and fertile outcome.
