The A-State's Scarlet Chess Club's annual Spring Championship will be held on Saturday, April 20 in the Reng Student Union's Spring Rover Room. Registration at the door begins at 8:00 AM, and the tournament continues until mid afternoon. There are two major sections:

1. Rated Open (USCF) - $10 early entry fee, or $15 at the door; 50% goes to 1st place, 30% to 2nd place, 20% to 3rd.
2. Nonrated Open - no entry fee or cash prize. Great option for experienced players ready to try their first tournament.
   

Both sections are open to students, faculty, and community/K12 players. Trophies awarded in each section for 1st place overall and top collegiate player. If sections are large, they will be subdivided by class and additional placement prizes awarded.
