Summer Camp Counselor in Training
We are looking for students to fill volunteer roles as Counselors in Training (CIT) for our 2024 summer camp program at the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum. CITs assist camp counselors in leading and mentoring campers to provide the best possible experience for the kids. Our CITs must be 12-17 years old and be very responsible individuals. We are looking for students who want to gain leadership experience. 

To go along with our summer camp programs we require a commitment of Monday-Friday of your chosen week(s). Our camps run as half days, where morning camp CIT's are on site from 8:30am-12:30pm, and afternoon camp CIT's are on site from 12:30pm-4:15pm. Depending on the week desired/scheduling there is an option to stack two camps to stay from 8:30am-4:15pm.

Once you have filled out this interest form, we will be in contact by mid April to schedule a training/orientation event.

  • A mandatory CIT training will be held in May (details will be provided once selected dates confirmed)
  • Please be aware that cell phones will be collected at the beginning and returned at the end of the camp day, unless an exception has been made by the parent/guardian in writing ahead of time
