Nature Preschool at Ijams Nature Center
Application Instructions:
This application is for the 2020-2021 school year of the Nature Preschool at Ijams Nature Center Miller building ONLY.

The Nature Preschool meets Monday-Friday from 9:00 am -- 3:30 pm. First day of school is Aug17, 2020 and we will follow Knox County school holiday calendar.

Once your application has been received, you will receive an email invitation to schedule a tour or attend an open house.

An in person meeting with the Nature Preschool Administrator is a requirement for admission.* After our meeting, your admission request will be reviewed and you will be notified via email about the status of your application, invoiced for your $1000 deposit to hold your enrollment, and be sent an enrollment packet.

*IMPORTANT NOTE* Ijams Nature Preschool students will spend at least 50% of their time outdoors which will include probable exposure and contact with nut allergens like black walnuts, hickory nuts, sunflower seeds, etc. Also we visit public use areas often like the visitor center and Jo's Grove playground. Although our classroom has a nut-free policy, the public use areas and outdoor experiences cannot be guaranteed to be free from contact with nut allergens. Exposure to other outdoor environmental allergens like pollen, mold, grass and poison ivy is very likely. Safety is always our primary focus, but given the nature of our program, parental awareness and caution is important to your child's attendance.
