2023 Canada Winter Games - Biathlon Canada Wax Tech Applications
Biathlon Canada is seeking two wax technicians for the 2023 Canada Winter Games in Prince Edward Island.

The role of these two wax technicians is to provide mentorship and technical advice to the divisional wax techs prior to and during the 2023 Canada Winter Games. This may include the following duties:
- meeting with divisional wax techs prior to the games to inform them of the role of the Biathlon Canada wax techs;
- suggest what wax and equipment the divisional wax techs should bring to the Games;
- testing wax and providing recommendations to the divisional wax techs;
- providing technical guidance on how to apply wax and prepare skis;
- general mentorship of divisional wax techs to support their development.

The purpose of the Biathlon Canada wax techs is to make their guidance and advice available equally to all divisional wax techs, so that no division is advantaged over another by the availability of their knowledge. The Biathlon Canada wax techs will not be permitted to assist with the actual preparation of skis for any of the divisions.

The Biathlon Canada wax techs will be considered Major Technical Officials for the Games, similar to the Technical Delegate and Competition Committee members. Accommodations at, and travel to, from, and during the Games will be provided, as well as a per diem for meals from the Host Society and a Canada Winter Games clothing kit to keep. In addition, Wax Technicians will be paid a daily rate based on their experience. This will be negotiated through the application process.

Travel to the Games will be on February 17, and departure will be on February 25.

Please note that the deadline to apply is October 14, 23:59 EST. Biathlon Canada must submit the names of the two wax techs to Canada Winter Games by October 21. All applicants will be contacted on or before October 21 to confirm whether they have been appointed.

Appointments will be made by Biathlon Canada staff. Applications will be evaluated on the following criteria (in no particular order):
1. Availability.
2. Overall strength of the application.
3. Diversity: Including but not limited to gender, race, ethnicity, BIPOC, age, physical abilities, language, geographic representation.
